TEDDY AND THE RIVER, a play about Teddy Roosevelt and his life-and-death expedition into the Amazon, will have its first NYC reading at the National Arts Club off Gramercy Park in September 2018.  The three-man cast will feature Allan Zeller as Teddy Roosevelt,  Dave Morrissey as his son Kermit, and R. G. Madruga as Colonel Candido Rondon.


THE GIRL IN THE RED DRESS, a new musical with book by myself and music and lyrics by Maia Sharp, Buddy Mondlock  and Art Garfunkel, had its first NYC reading in May 2018 at the National Arts Club.    The reading featured Broadway's Kennedy Caughell, with a cast including Richard Barone,  Bill Phillips, Joanna Keylock, Kimberly Squires and Allan Zeller.   The musical is being developed by Mark Graham and Peter Staley of Saugatuck Productions. 

CHARLIE BOY,  an independent film for which I wrote the screenplay, wrapped production in July 2018 in Astoria.  Produced by School of Old Productions (Greg Kritikos, producer; Dean Martini, executive producer), the film stars Greg Kritikos, Kelly LeBrock, Burt Young, Teddy Smith, Peter Plano and is directed by Timothy Hines.

My evening of one-acts, SENIOR MOMENTS, will be produced in 2018 by the legendary Moscow Arts Theatre!   Founded by Stanislavsky , the MAT premiered Chekhov's four great plays, and is considered the wellspring of modern theater.   It is a profound honor to be included in their upcoming season.  The Russian title of the evening translates to "FROM THE LIFE OF FOSSILS". 

FALL RIVER, a new play about Lizzie Borden and the "Crime of the Century", had  its world premiere  at Penguin Rep in Stony Point NY in  October 2017, directed by Artistic Director Joe Brancato, and featuring  Sofia Jean Gomez and Oliver Wadsworth.

The Penguin Rep production of SMALL WORLD completed a successful run in NYC in September 2017!   The original cast of Mark Shanahan (as Walt Disney) and Stephen D'Ambrose (as Igor Stravinsky) were again directed by Joe Brancato, with performances from September 13-October 7 at the 59E59 theater complex.  Critics raved: "Highly original and entertaining!" "Totally fascinating!"  "Profound and memorable!"

My one-act play THE FRIEND FROM THE CITY was recently performed at the TAW Playwrights Festival in Norwalk, Ct.    It was directed by Martin West and featured Frank Piazza, Sachi Parker and Emilie Hannon.

A WORLD OF PLEASURE, a short film based on my one-act play, has won BEST SHORT FILM at the L-DUB FILM FESTIVAL 2016 in Lake Worth, Florida!  It has just been accepted in the prestigious Depth of Field International Film Festival.


MOTHER OF THE WEEK, a short film I co-wrote with actress Jennifer Jiles,  won Honorable Mention in the Queens World Film Festival 2016!



Two giants of the 20th Century, filmmaker Walt Disney and composer Igor Stravinsky, clash during the making of the animation classic Fantasia.   This two-character comedy explores the volatile relationship between these two very different geniuses,  and considers the personal nature of creativity and art.   SMALL WORLD,  produced by Penguin Rep in Stony Point NY to kick off their 2015 season, moved to NYC in September 2017, at 59E59.  Directed by Artistic Director  Joe Brancato and starring Mark Shanahan as Walt Disney and Stephen D'Ambrose as Igor Stravinsky,   "Funny...Provocative...the initial humor  moves into dangerous and exciting territory." THE BLIND TRUTH, a play by Vinny Basile and Frederick Stroppel, with original songs by Vinnie Basile and Elysa Sunshine, was included in the 2016 Dream Up Festival at Theater For the New City.  Eight performances from August 29 to September 14.   For more info and tickets,

A new reality show based on the everyday exploits of Jim Coniglione, aka "The King of Poop", and his unique business, Scoopy-Doo Dog Waste Removal Service (he picks up dog poop for a living),  is currently in development with Mop It Up Productions.    Created by Mr. Coniglione with Frederick Stroppel, the show has enjoyed great success on the web, and is now being considered by networks and production companies.  The team has also written a screenplay titled TURDHERDER!, about the life and exploits of a novice poop-scooper.
